1915 Meets Sokaku Takeda of Daito-ryu Jujutsu in Hisada Inn in Engaru with introduction from Kotaro Yoshida.  First 10-day Daito-ryu seminar  (end of February to 5 March 1915).

1915 to  1919 (December)  : Ueshiba Sensei built a small dojo in his own house in Shirataki and received Sokaku classes and in  December 1919, left shiritaki abruptly after receiving a telegram announcing the death of his father.

Sokaku will propose to Ueshiba to become his successor (unpublished interview of S. Pranin).

Below some references from Takeda sokaku 's Eimeiroku about  9 Seminars (probably of 10 days each) in which Morihei Ueshiba participates :

Following  thèse seminars, it seems that Ueshiba received Hiden Ogi scroll issued by Takeda Sensei more precisely in march 1916 (Taisho 5)
1922 Sokaku Takeda visits Ayabe with his family to teach and stays from 28 April to 15 September.

Above "Shinkage ryu densho" offered to Ueshiba Morihei by Takeda Sokaku.

It is not a diploma (Takeda Sokaku never studied Yagyu Shinkage Ryu) , but a document referring to the Yagyu shinkage ryu , including passages from Heiho Kadensho : Shinrikyo first chapter (Shoe Offering Bridge) , the famous work written by Yagyu Munenori, the son of Yagyu Muneyoshi.

Below some translation of this scroll by Josh Reyer :
"Use your fists as a shield" and "support your body with your front leg, and extend your rear leg".

From original kadensho scroll, Three of  five points regarding stance are omitted :
"stand in hitoemi"
"lower your shoulder to your opponent's fists"
"extend your left elbow"

The lineage preceding Takeda's signature runs:

Kamiizumi Musashi-no-Kami Fujiwara Hidetsuna
Yagyu Tajima-no-Kami Taira Munetoshi
Yagyu Tajima-no-Kami Taira Munenori
Over Ten Generations in Old Aizu Domain
Takeda Sokaku Minamoto
Masayoshi
